Shaina's first day of school-August 25, 2009

Shaina is now going to the Jewish Day School on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 am-12 noon. There are 5 other kids in her class: 3 girls and 3 boys! The first day of school, we both went to school for this momentous occassion. We took pictures, played with her in the classroom for a few minutes, gave her kisses and left. She was great at drop-off! With so many toys and new kids to play with, who could blame her?!? We tearfully watched our growing girl from the window as she explored this new place.

However, 2 hours into the first day, Ms. Toni (the wonderful teacher) called me to say that Shaina had been crying for a little while and if I wanted to come and get her, it would be okay. Of course, I sped right over to the school and picked up our little girl. She was over-tired and had enough. I held her the rest of the afternoon and we were happy together.
Thursday, we were anticipating crying and not wanting to go back to that place, but not only did she not cry when we left her, but she made it the whole day! She has loved school ever since and although she's always happy to see Mommy when being picked up, she is in a GREAT mood and really is enjoying her time at school.
